If your
children can run,
then they can train! |
|
child obesity is
a serious issue, and with great speed, it is on the rise! |
Some people believe that kids can’t participate in any form of fitness training, while others believe kids may train like adults. Both can’t be farther from the truth! Youth training entails special concerns and restraints but is quite feasible and even recommended.
Kids engage in advanced exercises
everyday. Jumping, climbing and swinging on gym-sets, running
with quick directional changes, even riding on the merry-go-round
are acts of exercises. These exercises entail advanced plyometrics,
joint and tendon stretching and strengthening, not to mention
balance and coordination and stability.
Don't believe us, try climbing
across the monkey bars, teeter-totter for 5 minutes, jump off a
piece of equipment that is at least your height, and ride the
merry-go-round for about 30 seconds and try to walk straight.
I can almost guarantee you will be sore the next day!
We know how much your children mean to
you. That is why we take extra precaution when designing your
children's program. Here are just a few rules that we follow
when youth training is performed.
- Boys reach their adult weight around 18 and girls reach their adult weight at 17.
- Boys reach their maximum strength at 18 and girls reach their maximum strength at 16 (this relates to a child who does not participate in an exercise program).
- Puberty occurs at different rates for each child.
- Special caution must be placed on the child’s epiphyseal growth plates to eliminate reduction in normal growth.
- Due to the incomplete growth of the child’s myelin sheath, children under 8 will not maximally perform coordination drills.
- As girls reach puberty their estrogen production increases which usually results in an increase of body fat. As boys reach puberty, they receive an increase of testosterone resulting in a sharp increase of strength.
- Children have a lower attention span then adults
Fitness Infinity has constructed a surpassing method for designing training programs for youths. Due to the safety concerns and liability issues pertaining to youth training, we do not approve children training without supervision. We understand that such a request may limit participation in our youth training program so we
will work hand and hand with their parents or guardians to secure
proper form, spotting, and execution of all of their exercises.
We know that everyone is not alike and that each family has different values and priorities. Unfortunately the fact remains, without your health, most of them are irrelevant. Get your child involved today, so they may fully enjoy tomorrow!
